The 3rd Annual Community, Culture & Cuisine event was hosted by the LEXBA and St. Mary's County Arts Council in the St. Mary's Square Shopping Center on Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, Maryland.

Each year we host over 1,000 attendees, entertaining performances from various cultures, an array of activities, interactive crafts, children's games, and more! Food lovers, enjoy cuisines from around the world!

This event was proudly supported by LEXBA's community partners. This year, the St. Mary's County Arts Council has been instrumental in introducing many wonderful activities and entertainment to our community through this event.

Multicultural Performances


La Diablada - Bolivia

Diablada USA brings us this iconic Bolivian mask dance. La Diablada is the symbol of the Carnival of Oruro, a festival recognized by UNESCO for its cultural significance. La Diablada is one of Bolivia's most vibrant and original dances, characteristics that have made it very popular beyond its borders. Learn more!


Bollywood Dance - India

Naach Performing Arts brings us another energetic performance in the Bollywood Dance tradition. This style combines traditional Indian classical and folk dances with Western styles like hip-hop, jazz, and Latin, characterized by vibrant costumes, storytelling, and syncopated rhythmic movements. Piscataway Powwow - Maryland

The Piscataway Nation Singers and Dancers will perform a vibrant, traditional Piscataway powwow, inviting audiences to join the celebratory dance. A powwow is a celebration of all that the earth provides, and is different each season. Hear the drums, join the dance, and sing the songs of the earth with one of our local native tribes. Ms. Story's Living History - St. Mary's County

Shemika Renee showcases a powerful, unique historical representation of the black women in St. Mary's County who made the tradition of stuffed ham what it is today. As the ancestor of today's residents, Ms. Story relates the history of this local dish and the women who prepared it. Learn more!


Footworks Percussive Dance - Various Countries

An energetic group of performers from Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble will showcase the cultural diversity of percussive dance from around the world, from Irish clogging to Appalachian Circle Dances. Footworks brings their own live music, and the sound of tapping feet will have you tapping your toes. Learn more!


Jubilee Voices - African American Tradition

The Washington Revels Jubilee Voices ensemble performs throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, preserving African American history and traditions through unique programs that infuse history with a cappella music, drama, spoken word, and dance. Learn more!
